Wonderful Time in Eureka!

点评：We made Eureka our home base while visiting the Redwoods. What a perfect choice. We were able to visit several parks all within an hour north or south of Eureka. Our timing also coincided with Eureka's Music Fest weekend. Multiple ticket options and we purchased for one evening, where you could go to multiple venues with different artists performing back to back. We picked 2 venues next door to each other and just went back and forth. Food trucks on the streets, but we had had delicious crab cakes and dinner at Jacks earlier. Both locations had bars set up. Lots of folks dancing and they were amazing to watch. The next day after hiking, we went on the cocktail cruise around the bay. Can't beat it for $15pp, plus the cost of a drink. Afterwards, had a lovely seafood dinner at Sea Grill. That evening there was a band performing outdoors in the square and all the area shops were open late. We found out about the Music Fest when I ran into problems finding a hotel. So do book early if going at that time. On our way south of Eureka, we went to the Sequoia Zoo. It's a nice little rescue zoo, but also has an arial walkway through the Redwoods, which was something different. Again, can't go wrong at $22pp. We hiked multiple trails at different parks. All were absolutely amazing and breathtaking. The paths were all easy, which made it nice for us to take our time and really enjoy our surroundings.
