Well worth a visit for the entire family
Irene Farm的点评
点评：I've been a returning patron of Irene Dairy Farm for a number of years. Upon my recent return for an annual vacation in South Africa, I set about introducing my Frenchman to the diversity of Gauteng as commerce integrates with nature. Naturally, breakfast at Irene Farm was fairly high on my list of aite visits.
We arrived early to find that this working farm was already abuzz with activity at a pace suited to the tranquil surroundings. I was impressed (though not surprised) to find that not only have the facilities been well maintained, but in fact improved and expanded in recent years. The gardens, walkways and benches present in immaculate splendour, and we spent a fair amount of time appreciating the farm and its amenities before settling down for breakfast at the restaurant.
In all things, I endeavour to be and one has to acknowledge that no entrance or parking fees are charged; a courtesy I believe is being offset by the restaurant menu and deli retail prices which are less than modest in my experience. While the food was palatable and well presented, service was slow yet friendly. As a former career chef in the international luxury landscape, it might be reasonable to consider that my expectations might be above average, yet I consider it standard for a Red Cappuccino to be served accompanied by flavour specific profiles (in this instance honey and cinnamon) and in fact all sit-down warm beverages to be presented with a spoon instead of a wooden stirrer. These small details might have been overlooked had the latter been provided promptly after being requested, instead of having to ask for it more than once.
Overall, I'd still return to Irene Farm and highly recommend families with young children to take advantage of the ample provision for free play and interactive experience amid sophisticated farm surroundings.
