点评：You can only give this beach less than the highest rating if you come unprepared.
This beach is truly a gem of the Ionian Sea and was rightfully chosen as the filming location for the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
What does that mean? It means, first of all, that the beach is not accessible via highway, but rather by a road that climbs up the mountain and then descends through narrow paths to reach the beach, which lies at the foot of massive cliffs towering above it.
The beach is not commercialized, so aside from restrooms, there are no other facilities. If you don’t manage to grab one of the few available sunbeds, you’ll need to bring your own umbrellas and chairs/sun loungers. Facing the sea, the right side of the beach has fine white pebbles/sand, while the left side is more gravelly and close to the cliffs, with clear warning signs about possible rockfalls. I will never understand why people still place their towels and umbrellas directly beneath those cliffs.
The water is turquoise blue, azure, and crystal clear. It truly is a breathtaking experience. There is a parking area near the beach, but if you arrive later in the day, you might have trouble finding a free spot. A lifeguard is also present on the beach, which adds a sense of security for visitors.
On the right side of the beach, there is also a tunnel – a passage beneath the rock – which is also marked with a warning about possible rockfall. But to be honest, I couldn’t resist the thrill and quickly passed through the tunnel, which is only about 10 meters long and connects the beach to the open sea.
Be sure to bring your own drinks and snacks, as there are absolutely no food or beverage vendors on the beach, apart from a hardworking donut seller who occasionally passes by offering homemade donuts at €3 apiece.
