My husband and I are passionate home cooks with a deep love for Italian food. Years ago, some friends took a one-day course at The Awaiting Table in Lecce, and their stories stayed with us. So when we found out about the week-long course, we jumped at the chance — even though we’d never done anything like it before. To our delight, those same friends were so impressed the first time, they signed up again and joined us! We flew in from Colorado, and they came from California.
The experience far exceeded our expectations. From the very first day to the last, it was pure magic. We didn’t just learn to make pasta the traditional Salento way — we were immersed in the history, culture, and rhythm of life in this incredible region of Italy. It was education, transformation, and joy all rolled into one.
I can’t recommend this course highly enough. Silvestro is an absolute gift to the world. His deep knowledge, passion, and humor create a warm, inviting space for genuine learning and connection.
We will never, ever forget our time at The Awaiting Table. It was unforgettable, inspiring, and truly life-changing.
