点评：This is an impressive and well-curated museum and well worth a visit. When we visited there was an absolutely wonderful display of pictures from local photographer Walokuvaaja Hildur, a pioneer of her era given that this was a male-dominated profession in the early 1900s. She was a consummate storyteller, either out with the foresters in a lumber camp, or around home where she snapped wonderfully evocative photos of her family at work and play. Another museum exhibit that was very well done was one that documented the climate, geology, wildlife, and anthropology of Arctic Circle countries. One can also learn about Finland’s challenging 20th century, impacted as it was by war. Practical information: the museum has a free coatroom and free combination storage lockers for your visit, a well-stocked gift store where one can purchase a reindeer hide, and a lovelylly small café that serves excellent coffee. Expect to spend at least 3 hours.
