点评:Kadyanda (Cadianda) is found in the hills above Üzümlü about 24km from Fethiye. There is a well surfaced road all the way to the site although much of the final climb is gravel road. The car park has toilet facilities. There is no entrance fee.
The structures seen today date from the 5th century BC through the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The first settlers came in around 3000BC and the city was abandoned in around 700AD, probably due to water issues and earthquake damage.
Although documented by the historian Charles Fellows in the 1840's, there has been little excavation on the site. Work restarted this summer.
Care is needed when walking around the site because of the deep holes into the cisterns that previously housed water. The stadium, charter and bath complex are the most intact ruins but there are many tombs and walls to admire throughout the site.
There are far ranging mountain views and views to the sea at Fethiye. Walking through the woodlands, and climbing the rocky paths, gives a feeling of exploration.
