点评:This was our 3rd visit to Drummond Castle Gardens. This time however I was very much less mobile, courtesy of a broken back and other serious spinal issues.
My husband purchased our tickets and the lovely lady there advised how we could drive to the lower area to park to save negotiating the stairs up and down to and from the garden.
She also mentioned that we could remain parked in the courtyard long enough for me to see the view of the gardens from there. We knew this is the very best vantage point of the gardens. This was very much appreciated.
There is still a bit of a walk from the designated Disabled Parking, and I definitely needed to sit down after that. It is also not clear in which direction to walk to enter the garden from this area. My husband had to go off in search of the entrance before we set out to get there. A direction sign would help.
The gardens were as lovely as ever, despite it being a dull day when the sun had decided to take a rest! It was very relaxing working my way from each of the few benches, and sitting on the bridge to take breaks from getting around. Thankfully for us, it wasn’t so busy that the few seats were occupied.
On this occasion I really did struggle, and more benches around the gardens would really, really be appreciated by myself, and more than likely many others.
