点评：This is a review of the olive tasting.
While not inexpensive, this is a wonderful experience in Rutherford, CA. The setting itself is beautiful - vineyards and many (3000!) olive trees. Our guide, Jeannie, was super pleasant to be around. You can tell she really knew the details of the milling process, as well as the history of Round Pond. She was enthusiastic about sharing her passion with guests.
She gave us a tour through the trees, and then explained all the fascinating Italian equipment that they use. After that, we sat down for a tasting of 9 different olive oils and two vinegars. It was great fun to taste the differences ask questions about the process of creating them.
There is a small store on site that sells their oils in beautiful bottles, but there was no pressure to buy.
All in all, this was a wonderful experience and a pleasant change from all the wine tastings!
