Excellent private WW1 Ypres battlefield tour

点评：Over Easter, our family did a one-to-one afternoon tour of the Ypres battlefields with Patrick and found it excellent. Patrick was a very knowledgeable and engaging guide, with a depth of understanding that comes not only from having grown up in the area, but also from his military background. He collected us from our hotel and drove us around the various main sites in the area (everywhere is very close, we were never driving for more than 5-10 minutes).
He tailored the tour to our specific interests (which we had sent him prior to visiting) rather than giving a standard tour. This made it much more relevant and worthwhile for us. He was also very good with our 11-year-old son, keeping him engaged and explaining the history clearly and appropriately. Following our visit, Patrick emailed us maps and documents pertaining to our visit which keep the memories of a great visit alive.
In summary, Patrick’s local knowledge, military insight and clear enthusiasm for the subject made for a very informative and well-run tour. We would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Ypres and the surrounding battlefields.
