Good attraction, but the food prices need reviewing
Trentham Monkey Forest的点评
点评:We visited Trentham Monkey Forest on 30 August as a family. The admission price was actually very reasonable — we paid £31.50 for 2 adults and 1 child using the Great British Summer Savings offer.
The Monkey Forest itself was enjoyable. You walk uphill through the forest and then make your way back down, and seeing the monkeys roaming around is a nice experience, especially for children. Be aware that parts of the route are quite hilly, so it may be difficult for some people with mobility problems, although there are signs/information about accessibility.
My main criticism is the canteen food prices and portion sizes.
We paid £3.60 for a portion of chicken goujons and received only 3 pieces. Fries were £3.90, and adding cheese was another £1.80, making a small portion of cheesy chips £5.70. A small frozen/frappuccino-style drink was around £3.80.
I understand food at attractions normally costs more, but these prices don’t represent good value for the amount of food you actually receive. Looking at 3 small chicken goujons for £3.60, then having to pay several pounds more if you want chips with them, feels excessive — particularly for families already paying admission.
Overall, the Monkey Forest itself is worth visiting and the discounted admission was good value, but I’d strongly recommend bringing your own food or eating elsewhere unless the café prices and portion sizes improve.
