点评:If you are contemplating a visit, no doubt you will have perused the website and learned about the house. Lives up to its billing - it is a nice, one family preserved gem. Yes, it was expanded early in life and not by FLW himself, but in accordance with the original design. That actually makes it more functional, livable (these Usonians were a little small; gems perhaps, but let's be honest). As is typical, the house is sympathetic to (or perhaps of) its site, rather than forcing the land to conform to it. It is well worth your time, our guide was both knowledgeable and engaging and we had a passing encounter with another staffer who grew up in a FLW house and shared a memory or two. Despite some kerfluffle below from another reviewer re: authenticity, it largely is, and what isn't is integral to family history. The only downside is that, like ALL FLW houses, it's not cheap.
