An exciting day out for train and Harry Potter lovers.

点评：The trip was bought for a big birthday present and was thoroughly enjoyed.
The train was pulled by a steam locomotive, the Lancashire Fusilier, and assisted by a diesel locomotive at the rear.
We travelled in a first class carriage at a table for two with extensive views of the beautiful country side and lochs and sea on both journeys. Particularly enjoying the trip over the Glenfinnan Viaduct with the Harry Potter connections. We were treated to free tea or coffee and had the use of a refreshment cart and gift sales. On the return journey we had purchased cream teas which were served in souvenir boxes just after the commencement and were quite extensive in their contents.
The time in Mallaig was approx 90 minutes which was time to take either a short sea trip or a meal in a local cafe and a walk on the harbour.
The train staff were very attentive and described interesting views from the train including the sites of the islands of Rum, Eg and Skye.
A great day out and worth the trip from Warwickshire.
