Very disappointing Christmas Lunch.

点评：Very disappointing.
Came here for Christmas Lunch with a group from the local area. We have eaten here several times previously, both for Christmas Lunch and on other occasions and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This time the whole experience was poor and disappointing.
We had anticipated being given a table so we could sit together, but were told to "sit anywhere where there is a cracker" ie. individual tables. The whole purpose of a lunch together disappeared at that point.
The food from the Christmas menu was not good. Starters: goats cheese - the best bit of the whole experience - very tasty. Prawn cocktail: Lettuce far too big to eat without the entire contents of the glass dish unravelling. Soup: - brought out last - insufficiently warm and not a great taste. Mains: Awful. All covered with a giant Yorkshire pudding that was brittle and a strange colour. Turkey meat was stringy, parsnips had burnt bits, green beans too solid to cut. Carrots OK, roast potatoes lacked flavour, stuffing ball was like a mini cannon ball and the gravy was thick and gloopy. Fish was very dry. Beetroot Wellington was soggy. Desserts: cheesecake very nice. Sorbet good. Pudding very sweet.
Not once were we asked, "How was your meal?" It was probably obvious from the amount of food that went back.
In all, very disappointing. We will not return.

圣诞菜单上的菜品都不怎么样。开胃菜：山羊奶酪——这是整个用餐体验中最好的一道菜——味道很棒。鲜虾鸡尾酒：生菜太大，一吃就把整个玻璃盘里的东西都弄散了。汤：——最后才上——不够热，味道也不怎么样。主菜：糟透了。所有菜都盖着一块巨大的约克郡布丁，又脆又硬，颜色也很奇怪。火鸡肉质很柴，防风草有烧焦的部分，四季豆硬得根本切不动。胡萝卜还可以，烤土豆没什么味道，馅料球像个迷你炮弹，肉汁又稠又黏。鱼很干。甜菜根惠灵顿太湿了。甜点：芝士蛋糕很好吃。雪葩不错。布丁太甜了。
服务员一次也没问过我们“您的用餐体验如何？”。从我们退回的食物数量来看，大概已经很明显了。
总之，非常令人失望。我们不会再来了。
