Nice Darshan of Lord Shiva on a Tiring Day Trip from Hyderabad

点评：This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingams of Shiva and is present in the heart of NallaMalla forest. We got the opportunity to visit it in end of March on the day of Ugadi. Initially we thought of visiting the temple directly from Bangalore, but due to lack of couple-friendly accommodations near the temple, we decided to do a day trip from Hyderabad instead.
We had priorly booked an Atisheeghra darshan for the date and this was the best decision for us as our date coincided with Ugadi due to which the temple witnessed huge influx of pilgrims. We started our journey early at 6 am from Hyderabad and it took us almost 4.5 to 5 hours to reach Srisailam with minor tea and petrol breaks. Being early summer the heat was starting to get unbearable but the temple management's arrangement was quite praiseworthy. It took us some time to find the entrance for the Atisheeghra darshan, and some little hassle to get the printouts of our darshan bookings. After this, the darshan happened quite smoothly. We were made to wait in a cool waiting area with fans and even offered some snacks before the gates opened for our darshan. After standing in a queue in a cool shade for 1.5 to 2 hours we had a nice darshan or Lord Mallikarjuna and Devi Bhramarambha.
Post our darshan, we were given free laddus at the exit and they gave us extra laddus on the occasion of Ugadi, for us to carry for our family. There was heat, chaos and exhaustion due to the long journey, but somehow that day, by grace of Lord Shiva, we had one of the best darshans of our lives.
