点评:We initially tried the Graham’s and the Ferreira port lodges which were fully booked and so we ‘ended up’ with Churchills. We are two couples who love port and we’d been to Graham’s once before. We thought we’d be experiencing something less impressive. We could not have been more wrong. The visit was sensational - our young guide, Maria, was delightful. She was a superb communicator with a deep knowledge about the process from grape to bottle. The port was delicious, the servings were generous, and we bought bottles to take home with us for Christmas treats. We cannot recommend the Churchill’s tour highly enough. Entering the cavernous area where the huge barrels are stacked was to immerse yourself in an environment and tradition dedicated to producing the best port possible. We learned that they still handpick the grapes and use the traditional foot stamping method for crushing them. This is everything we love about Portugal - lovely people and great wine.
