This is a short easy walk to to stunning beach surrounded by impressive cliffs, on the West Coast of Skye near the village of Carbost. What an amazing setting! The beach is covered by rounded grey rocks. On the north side of the bay are vertical cliffs and a waterfall. On the south side is an impressive sea stack which can only be accessed at low tide.
The small layby is located at the end of the public single-track road, about 10 minutes from Carbost village. The walk begins along the left hand track from the road end; there is a sign reading 'To the bay', and takes you past a private house then farmland where live stock will be grazing.
The walk from the parking area to the beach is approx 20 minutes. So you'll need 20 min to get to the beach, and 20 to return, plus the time you want to spend at the beach.
