Private ski lessons at Les Menuires
The Snow School的点评
点评：My son (12 yrs) had been doing ESF, but after reaching 2nd star he didn't progress much on our trip last winter. His class was a majority of French-speaking children, so the instructor translated less frequently. This is a big issue at his level where it's no longer sufficient to see what the instructor does, you must really hear and understand the instructions.
This year we decided to look for an English run ski school, and came across The Snow School, which covers all of Les 3 Vallees, and went with a week of private lessons.
We spent the most time with Filippo who is both an accomplished skier, and an excellent teacher. Filippo was very resourceful in using a variety of exercises to teach the same technique while also maintaining a good balance between just enough information, and not being too much. If something didn't stick, he tried a different exercise, constantly adapting.
The other thing he did well was to teach both my son and my wife at the same time who are at different levels. By the end of the week my son progressed to being comfortable on all blue terrain at speed, and having started on some red. My wife who was already comfortable on blue/red, but became better at carving turns and shifting her weight, so her technique overall looks very different now.
Personally I am a snowboarder, so while private lessons are up to 3, I wasn't able to make direct use. Nevertheless, we stayed together as a group as I was interested to hear the instructions in order to help teach my son the rest of the time. I was also able to use the instructions on some level to reflect on my own technique.
