点评：A splendid experience. A short voyage out of Wrangell brings you to this bear observatory on Anan Creek. Operated by the US Forest Service. A well graded pathway leads from your boat past the Anan Lagoon to the observatory. There , on platforms well above the creek, one can observe bears (we saw only blacks but brown bears visit there too) The bears are avidly pursuing their need to fatten up on spawning salmon which are in and around the creek in profusion. Besides those fishing in the creek we observed bears on and near the trail including a mother and her plucky little twins. During the high season the number of visitors is strictly limited so neither the bears nor other humans with be overwhelmed by the traffic. Our guided trip was not cheap by any means - we paid $245 each but that was far less than other prices I saw quoted.
