点评:Hadn’t been for many years so was looking forward to seeing what had changed. Car park is dreadful and needs redeveloping, the Model shop was well stocked as usual, cafe empty with no visible menu so no idea what they had on offer. Main indoor museum collection is a jumble sale of decrepit exhibits, cabinets with model makers efforts and random display items - some real gems in here but so cluttered you just can’t see for looking. Badly needs a declutter and reorganisation as lack of space just makes it a boggling experience - there’s no apparent flow. The mezzanine is a better exhibition of Coventry’s role in aircraft research, design and manufacture - but lack of signposting makes it another random experience.
Outside in the sunshine is a graveyard of planes, they could all do with a good clean and polish as some exhibits are really worth seeing (Lightnings, a Voodoo and Hunters aplenty.
The Vulcan is the centrepiece but looks tragic, as does Baginton’s finest (Argosy).
I hope it survives but I fear days numbered on this evidence.
