Brewery Weihenstephan的点评
点评：Spent the night in Freising before flying back to Charlotte NC from Munich. A very interesting, historic town and, as we know, home to the oldest brewery in the world…1046: also where Pope Benedict was ordained.
The restaurant at said brewery is typically Bavarian, and we sat outside in the “service” area…there is a self-service beer garden but please don’t confuse that with some kind of cafeteria.
We both had white asparagus, as this is the season for that delicacy, with a small veal schnitzel, potatoes and hollandaise sauce..impeccable , and not the often insipid tourist variety.
The beer is excellent, my wife had the dark wheat beer (didn’t know there was one) which won best wheat beer globally last year.
All in all a great dinner, very attentive staff, dressed in typical Bavarian brewery garb.
