点评：My wife and I went to Basecamp Senja to experience the northern lights, which indeed were quite a spectacle when we saw them. But our three days on Senja Island encompassed so much more, starting with the extraordinary hospitality of our hosts and tour guides, Trude and Dag. Going to Basecamp Senja felt like visiting friends for a long weekend, with superb meals featuring local specialties—including lots of salmon and a hearty reindeer stew—and cozy accommodations with a breathtaking landscape (northern lights included) right outside our cabin door. Trude and Dag, both very knowledgeable and experienced, carefully planned our activities, yet it all felt effortless. (The two are also nicely informative about local history and contemporary society.) First, they arranged a whale-watching tour in Tromsø before our ferry to Senja. Then, on Senja, we took an afternoon Jeep tour of the Island’s incredible National Scenic Route along mountains, fjords, and beaches. For another especially fun excursion, Dag expertly piloted a Zodiac boat through fjords and islands of the protected Bergsøyan Archipelago, as he and Trude pointed out wildlife along the way. At the end of an action-packed day, the northern lights were a magnificent finale. We highly recommend Basecamp Senja for a unique small-group adventure.
