点评：I love social history so this was right up my street. Very atmospheric to be able to see the Victorian and Georgian cells in the basement and to learn about some of the people who were held there, including the Tolpuddle Martyrs. Then upstairs you emerge in the dock of the courtroom and can move about to sit in the jury box, public gallery and judge's chair. There is an excellent audio guide included in the entry price, and although most of the information is also on display boards, I recommend the audio guide for additional background. The audio guide tells one of four stories from the courtroom's past and you have to choose which one you will listen to before you start. This is a bit of a shame as it would have been good to be able to listen to the others, although there are booklets about each of the four cases to look at in the courtroom. I spent about an hour and a half in there and had the whole place to myself, which was a surprise on a summer afternoon - I can recommend the cells as being nice and cool when it's hot outside! Also special mention to the two lovely ladies on the reception desk - sorry I didn't get their names but they were both so friendly and welcoming.
