点评:I had long wanted to visit Knepp after reading Isabella Tree’s book Wilding and then hearing her on Desert Island Discs.
My son and I joined the autumn safari. Our guide Mark was very knowledgeable about the history and aims of Knepp, its biodiversity and ongoing rewilding work, as well as wider nature restoration and connectivity efforts in West Sussex. We saw the beaver enclosure, pigs rooting for acorns, and the deer rutting. I would love to visit in the spring and summer as well, but live 200+ miles away.
My only feedback would be that the safari is quite expensive for a guided walking tour. I would also have preferred to have had the refreshment stop at the end of the safari, as this would have enabled people who wanted to stay and chat and ask questions to do so, but other people could leave if they needed to. My husband, daughter and dog had to wait until 6pm for us to get back, rather than the advertised finish time of 5:15pm. I appreciate that things can overrun depending on what you see and how many questions people have, hence moving the refreshments to the end would accommodate this better.
