点评:It was a fascinating experience we had looked forward to for a long time.
It was a privilege not only to see the Passionstheater but also to enjoy the "once every decade" Passion Play.
The whole affair was as well prepared and organized as practically possible especially knowing the impact on the production of the two-year delay due to the pandemic.
The check-in process was elaborate, and the line was long. You just have to treat it as a part of the experience.
The current Passion Theater was extensively remodeled in 1999. The auditorium is covered except for the first two rows. The seats are comfortable and if needed heated. The view is good from every angle and every seat.
The play is in German. I could understand enough German to fully follow the play and found no need for English language book which we had anyhow as a reference.
It is a whole day affair with a generous break for a midday meal on your own.
I am considering myself lucky to be able to experience this once-in-a-lifetime historic passion play. The whole background of it, the history behind it, the involvement of the whole village in the production - it is all fascinating!
