点评：During a recent trip to Barrie, we found ourselves with some extra time and decided to take a walk in Sunnidale Park Arboretum. This decision turned out to be a very pleasant surprise.
Parking and Facilities:
We parked at the Dorthy Parker Centre, where we found convenient on-site washrooms and plenty of benches throughout the park. These amenities made it easy to rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery at our own pace.
Walk Experience:
The park offers a leisurely walk that can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on your walking speed and how much time you spend appreciating the gardens and trees. The path is easy and flat, accommodating both seniors and mothers with strollers. The park has a good mix of sunny and shady areas, making it pleasant even on a hot day.
Scenery and Features:
The park is home to some unusual and beautiful trees, many of which have descriptions and explanations that are interesting to read. We enjoyed the different garden features, including an area dedicated to those impacted by COVID. Although this area was currently fenced off, it appears it will be quite nice once it's completed.
Side Trails and Wildlife:
We noticed some side trails leading away from the park into a wooded area. However, there were signs warning about coyotes in the area, so we decided not to explore those trails.
Overall:
Sunnidale Park Arboretum is a lovely place to spend some time outdoors in Barrie. With its accessible paths, interesting trees, and thoughtful amenities, it provides a peaceful and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.
