Turkish Shopping & Dining Street @ Karşıyaka

点评：This is the shopping area in the Karşıyaka district of Izmir. I came here via ferry from Konak across the Gulf of Izmir. The Karşıyaka Shopping precinct is literally across the road from the ferry terminal & stretches for a few blocks.
There are many types of specialty stores including those selling unique Turkish gifts that are a step up from the ubiquitous fridge magnets and of course plenty of places to eat.
I especially liked a store called Tuğba which sold a whole range of Turkish sweets prepackaged in tins as gift packs and Turkish Lemon Kolonya bottles in the shape of the Izmir clock tower.
While here, I also enjoyed for lunch a unique type of Turkish Kebab which I had not eaten before. The Cağ kebabi is from Erzurum province and made just from lamb. This was at a restaurant situated at the end of the shopping street called Dadaş.
All in all, this is a nice area for browsing and having a bite to eat. A nice way to spend the afternoon.
