Monument to Soldiers-Kurtatintsam的点评
点评：Monument to Soldiers-Kurtatintsam means "monument to soldiers who were born in the Kurtat Gorge" in Russian (see my separate review of the Kurtat Gorge listing).
I parked my car by that war memorial in mid-August. It stands on the hillock to the right of the road entering the heart of that gorge. A horse without a rider... Only a highlander could create such a telling and poignant symbol.
There's a blue sign nearby saying (in Russian): Dear visitors of the Kurtat Gorge! We remind you that it's strictly PROHIBITED to mount the monument since it is not a merry-go-round or an amusement park object. It was placed here in memory of soldiers born in the Kurtat Gorge who did not return from the Great Patriotic War.
Obviously, some local tourists behave like early humans...
