Working Lighthouse, in a National Park with wonderful coastal scenery

点评：Thursday 2nd October and we drove to Es Cap de Barbaria which is on the southernmost tip of Formentera.
This Lighthouse, Far de Barbaria, is located here along the coast in the National Park of Cap de Barbaria, reviewed separately.
We parked up in the Car Park at the point were the road is blocked off to traffic. At the time of our visit there was no charge for parking. However it looked like there would be charges during the peak season.
From here we walked the 1.7 kilometres , just over a mile, along the road through the National Park to the Lighthouse.
The working columnar Lighthouse is roughly 19 metres ( 62 feet) tall. It stands on a headland that is 78 meters (or 256 feet) above sea level. It is surrounded in a walled compound, with a gated entrance which was locked shut.
The Lighthouse is not open to the public, however, the walk to the coast to see it and the stunning coastal scenery is well worth it.
Standing on the clifftop there were expansive views of the rugged coastline, the Mediterranean Sea and the National Park.
