点评：This is a museum featuring contemporary German art from the 19th-century that that took residence in the box-shaped, all glass facade building at Schloßplatz along Königstraße in 2005. Previously known as the Galerie der Stadt Stuttgart, the museum is based upon the original collection accumulated by Count Silvio della Valle di Casanova in the 1920s onward. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm (Tues to Sun) with extended hours until 9pm (Fri). The museum is closed on Mondays. Regular entry for adults is €6, additional fee for temporary exhibitions being held. We visited the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart recently and enjoyed the permanent collection which is nicely laid out over two floors. There is probably 60-90 minutes worth of viewing depending on your interests and times. The Graphics for the Dictatorship section is s stark, at times dark but fitting for the era represented. There are particular impressive works by Otto Dix complemented by good works by fellow contemporaries. It is a nice collection, if you have interest in the late 19th through 20th-century contemporary art world within Germany.
