Shocking Animal Neglect at Mazotos Camel Park – Avoid This Place Camel Park Mazotos
We’ve attended Mazotos Camel Park each year, paying £70 for entry this time. However, our recent visit turned into a distressing ordeal.
While sitting near the playground- before even seeing any animals or riding camels- we discovered three tiny kittens under a car with their mother. They were in an awful state. Their eyes were so severely infected that, after gently cleaning away the pus, we realized the virus had already caused irreversible damage- their eyes had been eaten away.
We naturally turned to the staff for help, expecting that a facility centered around animals would take their welfare seriously. We were wrong.
Staff met our concerns with aggression, hostility, and even threats. My son had my phone snatched out of his hands, seemingly because they were worried he was recording. They refused to take any responsibility or offer any kind of veterinary help. Instead, we were told they would “move them aside,” whatever that means.
When we said we would take the kittens for medical attention, we were refused permission to take their mother- despite clearly needing to have her neutered to stop this cycle. Initially, they claimed the cats were strays, meaning we should have had the right to help them. But they then reversed this, suggesting they belonged to the park- raising further questions about neglect.
After pushing for a refund, we were reluctantly given our money back- but only because we stood firm. It was clear they just wanted us gone.
Thanks to help from my uncle and aunt, Sally Joannouthe kittens are now safe and receiving veterinary care.
Please avoid Mazotos Camel Park. Animal welfare appears to be non-existent, and their treatment of guests who try to intervene is shocking. This place does not deserve your support.
