点评：Excellent museum, definitely worth visiting during a day trip to Carcassonne. The museum is situated in a small park and features a permanent collection, a temporary exhibition hall, and a courtyard; everything is free! There is also a nice gift shop and free toilets, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The main collection is beautiful and has a mixture of different styles with something for everyone, from contemporary conceptual sculpture to renaissance paintings. It is an impressive collection and there is information available in multiple languages if you want to learn more.
A highlight of the museum is there focus on local art, either depicting or painted in Carcassonne. It is amazing to see how the city has changed (and not changed) over the years through these works.
You do not need to book in advance, but be aware the museum is usually closed for lunchtime, so plan your visit accordingly.
