休斯顿太空中心的点评
点评：We came here in '97, bringing the kids back then. And it was an amazing experience. So we brought the grandkids to see it. And what a downer. We have the greatest space program in the world since the early 1960s. No doubt. And there should be a great place to celebrate that history. But this is not it. Back then, they had consoles where you could try to land the shuttle without crashing it. And other interactive games and lots of sites to see, with a 40 foot replica, working that is, of the Omega Moonwatch hanging over the main room. And what do they have now? You can make parachutes out of coffee filters. Really? And two movies, one of which stars Tom Hanks talking about himself for most of it. Did you know he was 13 when they walked on the moon for the first time? Who cares? A better piece of film is George Clooney, a big Moonwatch fan, talking with Buzz Aldrin about landing on the moon. And the food court shuts down after lunchtime. Like, really? How absurd. Oh and in a month or so they will have in the center some lame thing about FIFA coming to town. What does that have to do with our space program? Oh, and cannot forget to mention the utterly lame mockup of the Orion capsule from the Artemis program. It looks like it was made by a high school wood workiing class. You know, the kids who flunked, as punishment had to make this capsule. So save your money for a trip to Florida and see the Kennedy visitor center and see real rockets blast off into space. But if lame is your game, go here. They do lame very well. But this is a disservice to our space program, and to those who died in that program. They should be honored better than this.
