A peaceful trip up and down the Mosel

点评：I spent more time planning this boat trip than executing it. After we had mastered the timetable options we came to ticketing. Leaving from a stage with no ticket office or machine I saw that I could buy our tickets on board. However I wanted to use a credit card and did eventually find out that I could, but it was easier said than done! I could have bought the tickets online in advance but then I would have been tied to certain times and it wasn't clear how I would receive the tickets, I don't travel with a printer!
The boat was not even half-full either way so it was easy to walk around and try different seats, the on-board catering was available but we didn't use it, preferring to get lunch in Traben. I suspect spring and autumn are the best seasons, not too cold or hot and not too crowded.
Staff did their best to get everyone on and off safely and on time but I assume the state of the river and number of stops does affect punctuality.
The weather was decent and we enjoyed our outing but there is some room for improvement.
