点评：Nallikari Beach (Nallikarin ranta) is the most popular beach in Oulu. It is shallow and very good for small children, too. Last year there were minor problems with water quality there but this summer the quality of water is very good. The area is beautiful and there are many activities there: beach volleyball courts, a huge climbing frame for children, a campfire site, an outdoor gym, a small observation tower, ice-cream kiosks, a cafeteria-restaurant etc. The zipline was closed when we visited the beach.
Nallikari Beach is a wonderful excursion destination from the city center of Oulu. We walked from the center to the beach and back. The walking distance from the market square is 3.5 kilometers in one way but the route is very beautiful. You see the historical Pikisaari Island on the way (tip: walk along Pikinen Poloku environmental art route). The walking route is much shorter than the roadway for cars because there are pedestrian bridges between islands. Also biking is allowed but cars aren't allowed.
It is also possible to hop on a land train (a trackless mini train on streets) and travel from the city center (Snellman Park, opposite to the town hall) to Nallikari and/or from Nallikari back to the city center by land train. Departures are usually once an hour until August 8th, 2023 (from the city center at 11.30 A.M., 12.30 P.M., 1.30 P.M., 2.30 P.M., 4.30 P.M., 5.30 P.M. and from Nallikari at 11 A.M., 12 noon, 1 P.M., 2 P.M., 4 P.M., 5 P.M.). Remember to check timetables.
