点评:Both the Refuge and the Polar Bear Express were on my bucket list'
It's not Busch Gardens nor is it a theme Park. It is a refuge for three Polar Bears and a special place to educate folks about these amazing bears. It gives visitors a chance to see these critters in a spacious environment close to their natural range.
They are not there to entertain us but to live out their lives as comfortably as possible. Polar bears are more active in the colder months so a hot weather visit will increase the likelihood you may not even see a bear if they prefer to stay indoors.
I was visiting from far away so I opted for the" back stage tour" which requires a donation of about $130 US . A guide shows you where they are medically treated, what they are fed, and gives you access to an upper balcony area for photographs. The guide does everything possible to entice the bears into the pool area for viewing so for me it was well worth the cost. We got to meet Henry the only bear born in the Southern Hemisphere in Australia .You can also stay as long as you want after the tour or visit the old village houses on the grounds or the Snowmobile exhibit. There is also a gift shop. Despite not actually :swimming with a bear" as advertised i enjoyed my visit. I consider this place impressive for such a small rural town.I would return if I lived in the area.If you've come for the Polar Bear Express it's a must see/
