点评:The area surrounding the old Port de la Lune stretches alongside the River Garonne and is a lovely part of Bordeaux.
We walked along a section of the waterfront promenade, between the Pont de Pierre and the Esplanade des Quinconces (it continues further, right up to the Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas).
The highlight is the famous Miroir de l’Eau, or Water Mirror. On a clear, sunny day, you get a mirror-perfect reflection of the beautiful 19th century Palais de la Bourse. It’s probably the most photographed site in Bordeaux.
Unfortunately, it was an overcast day when we were there and a constant breeze sent ripples across the water so we missed out on the ideal shot.
Whilst this is a lovely area to stroll along, don’t expect sparkling waters. The river itself is fast-moving and quite brown and muddy. On its own, it’s not particularly scenic.
There is a lot of activity along here even mid-week. Walkers, tourists, families and cyclists (we had to watch out for those) are out and about. At the Mirror de L’Eau, children splash about in the shallow water and when we were there, festival tents were set up alongside the river.
