点评:Everywhere one goes in Rwanda, you will meet people who have been impacted by the Genocide and lost their loved ones. Yet they go about their lives with a smile having got rid of the burden of the genocide through forgiveness. The Genocide Museum preserves the dark history of the nineties and is very humbling experience. How can one not be affected by this tragedy that took place only three decades ago and could easily have been prevented. What is nice about the museum is that its self-paced, but it was a little crowded when we visited so one had to wait their turn to read through the material. The museum is very enlightening and does well to educate the visitor about all the events that led to the genocide and thereafter. There are graphic pictures of the genocide but to my mind, nothing that would prevent anyone from visiting. The visit does make you feel sad and heavy-hearted but then you only have to see the smiles on the faces of the locals for your hearts to light up. A must-see for everyone!
