Brookville Lake Eclipse Experience “A Restroom Disaster”

点评：We drove over to Brookville Lake state park to view the eclipse last week. Perfect plan, the center of totality, a big open park on the lake, restrooms and a huge crowd of nice people. Beautiful day little or no cloud cover and a nice place to be. Cost was $9 per car,not a bad day for the park as we saw over 5,000 cars maybe double that amount….full of people. We parked next to the beach area where about 1,000 cars were parked and @ 4 people per car we estimated a crowd of 4,000 just around the beach. When our sister-in-law was gone several minutes to the rest rooms we walked over to find her. She was in a line of 50 women waiting to use one working toilet. I checked and there was also one working toilet in the men’s rest room as well. The facility was really a bath house with showers for beach goers but maintenance was non-existent and most toilets and urinals were pulled out and lying around on the floor. A total dump!
How many years did the park service know about the eclipse? Indiana should not put up with such a terrible place! Maybe they can use some of that eclipse money to tear down the bath house rest rooms and rent some port-o-let’s?
Whoever is in charge of Indiana State Parks needs to tour the facilities occasionally to see first hand….but go to the bathroom before the trip!
