Nicely restored, rooms are pretty

点评：I visited today as a day-trip from Prague and joined the Piano Nobile tour (90 min, 15 rooms). Restoration had been completed, rooms are in good condition & nicely-furnished. The tour is in Czech, the English booklet gave rather good description. Once inside the chateau at the start of the tour, tour guide asked us to put big bags in the locker. Many rooms of this chateau are surprisingly small & intimate. Rooms were rather warm and stifling (it's a 75F/24C cloudy&breezy day). This chateau is definitely not as spectacular as Konopiste, but I find the rooms interesting and pretty, I felt as if I'm visiting someone's private home when they were away.
Public Transport from Prague -- from Kobylisy tram/metro stop, I took bus 372 (bus stop is on Pod Sídlištěm) to Veltrusy -- 1 hr direct bus ride. Then walk 2 min to yellow entrance gate on Františka Šafaříka ("Kafe z Ruky" on google map) where one can see the chateau from the gate. 15 min on footpath through lush grounds to reach chateau. From "Veltrusy" bus stop, direct bus 372/370 took me back to Kobylisy within 1 hr.
