点评：Toscana Saporita is everything you can imagine and more. As with all businesses, the quality and the experience flows from the top down and there is no one more ebullient, hard working and welcoming than Sandra Rosy Lotti and her amazing team, including Allison, Keith, Garrison, Lucas, kyle and Enzo. This visit was my second, and with Sandra’s welcome, it felt as though I’d come home. The school itself and the lodging are located a short and scenic walk from Lake Massaciuccoli in the countryside of Lucca, in a 16th century country house once occupied by Giacomo Puccini. The school features Tuscan recipes prepared with locally sourced and seasonal foods. We learned how to make various pastas (including raviolis) and sauces and gelato and tarts and pizza and so much more and the theee meals each day were outstanding. The classes and excursions were peppered with Sandra’s entertaining storytelling and hilarious bantering among staff and students alike. Sandra warned that our group would be friends before the week was out, but honestly, we felt like family within a couple days. The excursions to Lucca, Porto Venere Cinque Terra, Pierrosandra, Sangiovanni, a marble workshop and truffle hunting adventure, a 300 year old mill, San gimignano and Voltera, to name (and perhaps misspell) a few were like stepping back in time to more history and beauty than I could have envisioned. We loved every second (and morsel) and are already dreaming of our next visit, with the infamous Italian accented words of Sandra reverberating in our minds- “Do It!!!”
