Carter Mountain Orchard的点评
点评：Carter Mountain Orchard was highly recommended to me by a colleague. So, I kept this orchard mind for a short outing and an opportunity to buy local apples but did not anticipate anything special.
Last fall I considered going with my husband but decided against it because of the admission charge. Yesterday, the first day of good weather in some time, we decided to check it out after our walk on the Saunders-Monticello trail. This time, there was no admission charge and we were treated to a surprise of spectacular panoramic views since the orchard is at the very top of the mountain. There is the option to pick your own fruit or buy it already picked in bags. There is also an ice cream stand, an outdoor sheltered space to enjoy drinks and music, and a well-stocked gift shop, where you can buy apple cider donuts and pies with seasonal fruit. There were enough people enjoying the mountain to enliven the scene but there were no long lines and everyone had enough room.
Based on the other reviews here, I would not visit on a weekend during the peak fall season.
