点评:We visited Provan Hall via the Doors Open Days in Glasgow. This beautiful building is in the East End of Glasgow (Easterhouse), next to the Morrison's supermarket but, when you enter the grounds you are transported back to the middle ages and it's hard to believe you are in the outskirts of Glasgow.
We arrived slightly late but, luckily the tour hadn't entered the building yet. Our (voluntary) guide, Andy Middleton, was dressed in medieval costume, which really added to the experience. Andy was very enthusiastic, and had a wonderful knowledge of the architecture of the building, the characters who had lived there, and the local area. It's quite a small building, but there is so much history associated with it that our tour took around an hour. At the end of the tour Andy showed us an album of pictures of the property throughout the years, and took his time to answer all of our questions. Outside of the walls of the building there is a lovely garden, which has been landscaped.
Unfortunately, the weather was really rainy and windy that day but, despite that, we had a lovely time and plan to go back when the weather is a bit better.
