点评:San Sebastian is, only in my opinion’ over-rated. It is supposed to be “foodie heaven” but we have travelled a lot of Spain (& the world in fact) and found it a bit pretentious, variable standards aimed at tourists and definitely over- priced even compared to nearby neighbouring cities, Bilbao, Santander and Vitoria-Gastiez.
If you think Michelin stars/ratings/visits are the most important factor then maybe it is your sort of place, but they are well spread out.
The “old quarter” is definitely the best sector to visit for ambience, character and beautiful buildings. It has a lot of eateries of varying quality - we chose the busy ones with locals in them as it is usually a good indicator. There were a few stand out pinxtos but a couple here a couple there, not all in one place.
We enjoyed wandering about, which is why I still gave it a 4.
