A difficult snorkel
National Reef Park of Puerto Morelos的点评
点评：We had 7 kids from 4 to 13. The current was almost too strong for me, and I am a powerful swimmer. A couple of the kids had to be taken back to the boat. The leader kept moving us forward with no time to hover about the small pieces of reef we covered. It was like a hike, not relaxing or particularly interesting. We did see a barracuda and a sea turtle. Mostly we were just fighting the current to keep up with the leader.
On most of my other snorkels we stay close to the boat and can get in and out. This was a an hour completely away from the boat. The tour people were very nice, but no instructions were given, even to the children.
There are a lot of rules at the park and on the boat which you do not expect:
No sunscreen
No watches
No cameras
No cell phones
Don’t go if you do not plan to stay in the water for the duration!
Not for small children (4 is the minimum)
Not for weak swimmers
No photos
