点评:Friday 25th April and we visited this beach along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
The purpose of our visit was to locate the elephant statues sited here as part of the Stampede on the Coast.
Once we found the statues which were by the Hive Beach Cafe, we took opportunity to walk about and enjoy the picturesque place. The beach comprises of golden sand, shingle and rocks and washed by the waters of the English Channel.
From the Cafe we turned right and took the coastal pathway along the headland, we walked past the coast guard station, being made ready for the summer season. We did not get very far, the pathway was blocked off as the cliffs had been eroded and suffered landslides.
From this viewpoint there were wonderful views along the rugged Jurassic Coast, in both directions and across the beach. We could also see, left hand side of the beach, the coastal pathway stretching down the coast in to the distance. There were also pathways through the green fields leading off over the hills.
The car park is operate by the National Trust car park and it cost £4 for two hours.
