National Park of American Samoa的点评
点评：National Park of America Samoa is a treasure. It is the type of place that merits national Park status.
We started, as most people do, at the Visitor Center. The Ranger to be, and still intern, Ariel, spent a lot of time with us explaining which hikes to take and what to see in the national park. She also pointed out the numerous National Natural Landmarks around the island and gave us an excellent map of all of their locations. We visited those place on the second day.
On the first day, we explored the park by car we had rented. And it was easy to drive around. The people of this island are kind and welcoming. That made the journey that much nicer. Some people we met on the trail had hired guides.
The hikes range from easy to difficult. We took took easy hikes and they were as advertised.
Many of the people we met, like us were at this national Park because we are so-called National Park collectors. Also like many of the National Park collectors we
met on the hikes, at the hotel and in town, this National Park was our last park - # 63 of 63 National Parks. That aspect made the visit all the more special for us. To commemorate the occasion, at the Visitor Center, the Ranger will print a custom certificate for you with your name and date. A nice service of the NPS.
The final note, this island is not a resort island. There are not plush restaurants and shopping districts, and all the rest that goes with it. This is a quiet island, with kind people. And they care for and respect this very special place, National Park of American Samoa.
