Beautiful Historic House and Stunning Gardens

点评：We booked onto a house tour and unfortunately missed out slot due to SatNav antics. However, the wonderful lady on reception gave us an incredibly warm welcome and booked us on to the next available slot.
There is a cafe which does fresh salads and sandwiches, plus pastries and cakes, and what we had was delicious. The toilet facilities were immaculate.
The house tour is about an hour and goes into some interesting historical detail and linking previous owners with significant events. We were there on a very hot day but the house is fairly cool inside.
The gardens are lovely, with the Italian gardens and ponds down quite a few steps. On the hot day we visited, it really did feel like being in Italy. There are plenty of benches and places to sit, which was most welcome.
Highly recommend. Our group was all adults, and I’m not sure if there’s loads to do for children, although there is plenty of space to run around outside and a small play area near the cafe.
