点评：Went here on a Sunday with our Grandkids as we had been here before and service was good as well as the food and thought it would be a safe bet. Booked ahead as we had tried a couple of times without booking on a Sunday and it was busy. It wasn't so busy this time, but on arrival were met by one of the team at the bar and shown to our table which had the requested high chair all ready for us. Things went downhill from there. We were notified a couple of things were not available from the menu, but that was ok and not an issue for us. We noticed although it was really cold outside, the bar was chilly and the fire wasn't lit as we would have expected as it usually was. Our order was taken for drinks first and they arrived quickly. We then ordered our food, but after waiting 40 minutes and having watched people who arrived after us being served their food, I asked how long the food order would be ( the kids were getting a bit fed up and were hungry by this point) and was advised a little abruptly there was a delay in the kitchen. No apology, and no acknowledgement that we had waited so long. The food did arrive about 5 minutes after my enquiry, and it was at best average. We ordered fish and chips, a cheeseburger and a burger. The presentation was uninspiring, the brioche buns the burgers were served in were either stale or frozen (half defrosted) and the fish was described as 'not very nice' and was quite dry. One couple who sat down across from us asked about the fire and were informed there was no wood as they had been using it all week! Although there are radiators around the bar, they are not sufficiently hot to heat the dining area and when you are sitting either eating or waiting on food as we were, having to keep your jacket on, it doesn't make it a pleasant experience.
Sadly, we would think twice about going back, but really do hope things are not going downhill and this was a 'blip' as would be such a pity as we do like coming here
