点评:We visited in January when the revamped Stag (no longer the Stag Inn) opened again, having been closed for well over a year. The new owners have invested hugely in the place and it is a completely different beast to the Stag of old. They appear to have more or less ripped everything out and started again. It is decorated beautifully and clearly by someone who has a very good eye for interior design. It’s not really a pub now, more a restaurant and bar. They provide a good selection of quality wines at remarkably good prices - there are some seriously good deals to be had with some of the higher end wine offerings but that will have to be for another day as we were just in for a quick lunch! I had a delicious glass of Minervois whilst my partner enjoyed a pint of craft ale.
Food wise - simple but sublime. I had slow stewed beef cheek with shavings of fennel served in a homemade focaccia bun. It was melt in the mouth, moreishly delicious. My partner had a very tasty beetroot soup followed a chicken liver parfait which was smooth, rich and unctuous.
The owners, who were very friendly, have returned to Scotland after over 30 years working in the wine industry in France. Falkland is lucky they chose to settle there - we will be back.

店主非常友善,他们在法国葡萄酒行业工作了30多年后回到了苏格兰。福克兰群岛很幸运,他们选择了在那里定居——我们还会再来的。
