点评:I was feasting on the plumpest fresh oyster in Hiroshima when I reviewed my Lonely Planet to find (apparently) some of the best Sake is brewed a short train journey away in Saijo. By the time I got there it was approaching 16:00. Be warned, the Sake breweries tend to close around 16:00. So (unlike me) plan with enough time in hand.
I found this place was still open (but locking up for the night) and the family member graciously allowed me to peruse the Sake and take questions.
I left with two bottles. A ‘normal’ sake you can warm and one of their premium ‘junmai daiginjõ’ Sake. The premium element comes from the milling of the rice grains.
Not had either yet - will do so in August when I visit my pops. We’ll drink the sakes together.
And I’ll toast this brewery.
